SENIOR THESIS REFLECTION

AE 481 & 482 REFLECTION

The year long thesis project provides 5th year AE students the opportunity to perform real-world tasks that most professional engineers do for their career.  This thesis project during a 5th year is what sets Penn State's Architectural Engineering apart from the rest.  This project allowed for insight into what our careers will be like after graduation.  In analyzing the existing building systems and proposing new alternative designs, many challenges were faced that needed to be overcome; therefore, much knowledge was gained through this process.  With the AE curriculum, internship at EXP, PSU faculty, PSU library, and through extensive research; I was able to effectively design the proper building systems.  And upon completion of my thesis, I have gained experience that will be invaluable to me in my future career as an Engineer.

CPEP REFLECTION

Maintaining this Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio has been a great tool in organizing and presenting my reports for this project.  This website helped me stay organized, on schedule, and will serve as an example of my work that could be useful in the future.
